Our Vision
Our Mission
At Lotus Learning Center, we nurture children’s bodies and minds by providing attentive educators within a stimulating educational environment, engaging in daily physical activities, and teaching social-emotional strategies.
Our Program
Child-Centered Learning
Lotus Learning Center applies an emergent approach to your child’s development. Our emergent curriculum is child-led and teacher-facilitated. This approach to learning is unscripted and constantly evolving.
While prompts and cues to stimulate your child’s interest may come naturally and spontaneously through play, we also use Creative Curriculum® as a research-based framework for exploratory learning about various themes.
Your child’s unique interests and topics from Creative Curriculum® answers the question of “What is being learned?” The emergent approach answers the question of “How is it being learned?”
Nurturing Relationships
At Lotus, we develop social and emotional skills by providing nurturing and responsive relationships. Meaningful relationships foster learning and development. Our teachers use a positive behavioral approach to prevent and address challenging behaviors within our peaceful classrooms.
Stimulating Environments
In the classrooms at Lotus, literacy, mathematics, and language are woven into various learning centers. Our realistic and open-ended materials energize investigative study topics and support our objectives for development and learning.
In our outdoor learning environments, we promote play with nature-based materials. Children experience a sense of freedom as they use their whole bodies to explore without limitations on noise and activity. Our high-quality materials encourage more creative and constructive play and are associated with fewer negative behaviors.
